Final Paper Update/Self-Assessment/Update

25 Nov

Please type your update below.  And be specific with what you’ve done, what you haven’t done, what your troubles are and what you’ve found (either research-wise or in your own brainstormings) that has pushed you forward.  ALSO, please post any questions you have for me or your colleagues.  Also feel free to respond to each other for the sake of ‘Accounts and Testimony’ you could use for the paper.

Consider this an opportunity to write to yourself precisely where you are in the development of this final submission.

See some of you Wednesday, and if not.. enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Yours,

Mike

Good Morning Everyone…

9 Nov

Hope you’re all having a nice weekend and harmonious closing weeks to the semester.  Just wanted to write you all a reminder to start working on your final papers, due 12/10 for Mendocino sections and 12/15 for SRJC.  Remember, this can be on any topic you like, broached in class discussions either loosely or directly, or stemming from one of the works we read from the selected authors.  This is NOT a “research paper”, but more to the point a longer argumentative/position paper with more extensive “research” component.  I’m quite confident that David Sedaris’ essays in their zooming wit and provocation will encourage thoughts among us all and you, the students, especially with this final paper coming up.

I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday, enjoy your long weekend, and we’ll talk soon.

Yours,

Mike

Hemingway Thoughts, Observations–

1 Nov

PLEASE LOG THEM ALL HERE.  Anything.  From dialogue to images to tone to characters.. whatever you like.  Remember, this exploration of Hemingway is purely reactionary, our thoughts and what we see on his pages.

Cheers,

Mike
